1961 Lloyd LP-600 "Alexander" Kombi TS

"KOMBI" is basically the German name for "Station Wagon"

It is virtually identical to the Lloyd LP-600 Alexander sedan.

Like the sedan it "featured" an Air-cooled engine and Front Wheel Drive as well as a trim upgrade from the "standard" Lloyd model.

Marketed worldwide, one brochure (from Australia), boasted of the Alexander's outstanding "engine changeover policy".

Basically this meant if you needed an engine overhaul, rather than let the car sit at the service center while the engine was being rebuilt, they already had pre-rebuilt motors ready and waiting and would swap out the old engine for a new one in "less than 2 hours"

Lloyd tried to keep up with the Joneses in the car industry.
However, like other ambitious projects of the Borgward parent company, it accumulated a large amount of debt. After the bankruptcy in 1961,the Bremen plant was taken over by Siemens, among others.
